Heather & Efe : Ridley Creek State Park Wedding

Heather and Efe had a beautiful Sunday wedding at Ridley Creek Sate Park. The place is beautiful and it felt very special and close knit due to the early start time. Bloodly Marys and fine wines were served while the autumn colors popped. Sage Catering did an awesome job as well!

Noreen and Drew at Villanova Conference Center

Noreen and Drew met while playing together on a soccer team. They both have awesome calves to show for it, calves and a life partner! They had an awesome party and the band was kicking serious ass. It's clear that Noreen and Drew are going to be very happy cracking each other up for years to come. Oh and Noreen didn't even get mad when Drew chomped down hard on her finger while eating wedding cake. That was a first for me. It looked painful.

Melinda and Bradley at the Abington Arts Center

This was a beautifully planned wedding at the Abington Arts Center. Melinda and Bradley were High School Sweethearts and you can tell they are a perfect fit for each other. We traveled around Philly and did some cool shots before a beautiful ceremony at the Abington Arts Center.

Michelle & John: Engagement photography and an Artesano Iron Works Wedding

Michelle and John are getting married next year at Artesano Iron Works. The first time we went to shoot their engagements it started POURING rain the minute we saw each other the second meeting turned out beautifully. I am excited to shoot with them next spring!

Katie-Jo and Tim: Union League Wedding Philadelphia

Katie-Jo and Tim had an amazingly beautiful wedding that started at The First Presbyterian Church here in Philadelphia. We then headed to the Art Museum for photos and it was packed with about five other wedding parties with the same idea (although we had the cool trolley)! Next up was the grand Union League of Philadelphia. The hall looked absolutely stunning due to Leah of Baile Flor Flowers. The big cherry on top was the surprise that Katie-Jo's dad Bob had in store.......The Mummers arrived!

Amanda and Todd: Cape May, NJ Wedding

Happy Thanksgiving! I am staying in and getting some work done. I will, however, be eating yams with toasted marshmallow topping. Yum. Long overdue, here is taste of Amanda and Todd's wedding. It was supposed to happen on the beach but the rain won that battle. Regardless, it turned out beautifully. Check out the awesome dress!

Sarah & Jonathan: Colonial Dames Wedding in Philadelphia

OMG! Soooo late on the blogging. I am editing like a crazy person over here! So I have about 7 weddings to post up here. Let's start with Sarah and Jon who had the most perfect -yet carefree-lovely-fun-yummy wedding ever. First of all they made my job so easy by being so sweet and in love. Secondly Sarah knew how to rock the camera, she should give lessons! It was my first time shooting at the Colonial Dames and I highly recommend it.

Holly and Sloan a Wedding at Omni Philadelphia

Holly and Sloan, I am sorry this has taken so long! I am neck up in the editing so bare/bear with me folks. Altough I am happy to report that I am still hitting my delivery deadlines. Yeay! Holly and Sloan found me through Queen of Hearts wedding consulting And we were the perfect fit. I even got to meet their cats and check out their place in South Philly that they have been working on. At their wedding we got some cool shots around ole' City. Check it.....

Annie and Stan Ra

Annie and Stan Ra are sweetie pies. They have a really tight knit group of friends that I really loved being around at their wedding. I Looooved Annie's dress and thought it looked really cool with the Art Museum in the background. She looked like a Godess!

Kate and Charles. A Cairnwood Wedding

First off, I would like to say Sorry for not having posted in a while. I am deep in the editing thickness. But, back to the prettiness....I loved everything about this wedding. It was so classy and still a maintained a fun, comfortable vibe. Kate and Charles are obviously adorable and totally in love so, to be honest with you my job was super easy. Just point and shoot! I also want to thank everyone for being so kind with their feedback. Very sweet!

Summer Times

Went to Vermont a few weeks ago with some buddies. We rented a little house on the lake and did summertime things, including but not limited to.... swimming, rock skipping, hiking, grilling, cocktail drinking, card playing, picture taking, food eating, badmintoning, yoga practicing, clove smoking, lake floatie floating and waterfall flipping. I can tell I'll have to revisit these photos in a few months. Sigh.

Villanova Conference Center: Photography of Erin and Kelsey

Erin and Kelsey had a beautiful wedding at the Villanova Conference Center. It was a little hot but the weather was beautiful. I have been lucky enough to not be caught in the rain this year. These two are hugh Georgetown fans, so much so that Erin wore a Georgetown garter! There was even a song sun about the team!

Caroline and Dan Photography at The Willows in Villanova, PA

Caroline and Dan had an amazingly fun wedding at The Willows in Villanova.  I had never shot there before and now it has become a favorite.  Ok, where to begin....First of all, two dresses.  One was her Mothers with a huge train and long sleeves, the other a modern beauty.  Secondly, live animals were mingling with the guests.  They paid a visit from the Philadelphia Zoo where Dan used to work with the little critters.  There was Mead to drink (involves honey) and lots of dancing.  It was such a great time for everyone to be part of something uniquely "Dan and Caroline".  OH! and they are jointly changing their last names to Sylvan...Latin for woods!  I LOVE that!

Rittenhouse Hotel, Philadelphia Wedding

Sara and Boyd had a lovely midday ceremony with high tea at the Rittenhouse Hotel. Boyds Mother keeps threatening to send the photos to Town & Country-Love her.   The middle shot is what Boyd used to do when he was little.  Make his parents kiss!

July 9, 2009

Bucks County Wedding, Pearl S. Buck Estate, Staci and Don's Wedding

Staci and Don had an awesome wedding. Seconds before Staci arrived at the isle on hose drawn carriage, a tiny sprinkle of rain blessed the scene then disappeared. There was yummy Persian food, meat and veggie skewers on the grill, pomegranates, bowls of blueberries and pecan pies. Table napkins soon became hip scarves as the dancing intensified. But in the middle of all of this good stuff was Donald and Staci's love, clear to see.

Lani, Photo Shoot, Downtown Center City Philadelphia

Lani and I did a shoot as a present from her mother for her 17th Birthday. How cool is that?! Not only is she gorgeous but she is totally sweet and easy to shoot. Lani is also into photography so I'm hoping she approves.

Lindsay and Jim~ Wedding~ Doylestown~ Aldie Mansion

Lindsay and Jim had a beautiful wedding at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown PA. I loved the color palate that they chose. Bright pinks make everything better! My friend Alison would call this "cajun shrimp" lovingly. Jim is such a cutie in this one with his Mother.

Caroline and Chris: Wedding : Villa Saint Maria: Redding Country Club

Caroline and Chris are a beautiful couple. They both radiate a calm serenity that matches perfectly with each other. They met on a beach vacation which I always think is uber romantic. The wedding was on a perfect day and friends and family came from far and wide.

Megan and Matt: Wedding, Center City Philadelphia, The Racqet ClubClub

Megan and Matt had an awesome wedding at the Racquet Club here in Center City Philadelphia. Megan is hilarious and it's clear she knows how to have a good time. The party had some serious dancing including a hi-heel "bonfire" as well as some stair case lip-syncing with family. I bet there were some sore bodies the next day.

Meredith and Sean at Normandy Farms

Sean and Meredith got married at Normandy Farms in PA. I can honestly say that Sean was one of the happiest grooms I have seen. He was/is so clearly in love with Meredith it made for some beautiful pictures. I guess it would be hard not to be in love with her!

Ashley is having twins! What a good looking family! I love the one from the back, it's so deceptive. Some girls have all the luck!

May 6, 2009

A beautiful, spur of the moment City Hall Philadelphia Wedding.

When I heard "city hall wedding" I envisioned a dinky room, a stamper and a quick ceremony lacking of emotion. This was quite the opposite! I love the one of someone grabbing his arm with congratulations. Pretty.

Just got this from my good friend Theresa and thought I would post it here..........I know EVERYONE'S strapped for cash these days, but even if you can spare $10, it all adds up. I don't normally forward emails, but I think this is very important. Many philly kids will have no relief- hot summer in the city, no pool, no a/c, no trips to the beach.... you get the idea.

Venissa Santi

Venissa Santi was just signed to Sunnyside Records and needed a few new photos of her beautiful self, I was happy to help. Her new record is called "Bienenida" and she can be heard here: Her link www.myspace.com/venissasanti She also won the Pew Fellowship in the Arts in 2008! We shot at my place and had a good time playing with different looks, although these were my favorites.

January 21, 2009

Taralisa and Dan

For Taralisa and Dan this was actually their second wedding.....to each other. They eloped on a wild mission so techniqly they were already married. We had a great time shooting in New Hope PA and luckily it wasn't too cold. Taralisa is into the theatre so needless to say she made a great subject and Dan has a bit of it in himself as well. But, as usual, it's the love that shines through the camera and back out again. I'll give a mexico update a bit later for anyone who's interested. Chow!

Regan & Carlos

The rain held out at perfect times throughout Regan and Carlos's wedding. The wind however was a different story. It was kind of an exciting energy though. I love the last shot of Regan's Mom. Carlos, I forgot to ask you what happened to the nachos shaped like Texas?

Young, Beautiful and in Love

Katie and Chad are just that. They are getting married next year at Carinwood. They met in New Hope white working at a restaurant together. We trekked out on a beautiful day and hung out in New hope before Katie had to blast back to DC to resume her studies at George Washington University.

Chad, please forgive me for being a flight case!

December 9, 2008

Erin and Ed

Yeay! Happy happy, joy joy. Ed has been a friend of mine since 2000 when we lived together as roommates in this very cute apartment in Salisbury, MD. I am soooo happy he and Erin have found each other. They are so sweet together! We all had an awesome time in Ocean City and I even did a (wine infused) sing along with Shirley Tomes at the Dunes Manor Hotel.I'm glad I got to experience such an awesome weekend. And Erin, I'm glad your mom likes the pictures.

Spa Time!

Ok, so I know you are now dying to know where these swanky places are and when you can get serviced.......The first three images are taken at LUX Spa and Fitness. and the lat three are at Toppers Spa at their Bucks County location. They both come highly recommended. While I am making recommendations I would like to guide you towards an amazing florist/dancer who I just got a sneak peek into her crazy/beautiful life.... Leah at Baile Flor Flowers.

Enjoy.

November 30, 2008

Lauren and JP

Lauren and JP had an amazingly fun wedding. The dancing was insane and everyone "got on the floor". These two are blissfully in love (it's in the eyes) so it's a good thing they got married. Their ceremony had many different cultural elements and was quite touching. Thank you Lauren and JP for making me feel so welcome. Kiss kiss.

November 17, 2008

Alice and Will

Alice and Will had a super stylish love fest that started at Historic St. Georges and ended at World Cafe Live. Alice was channeling the fashion Gods with her beautiful dress and fiesty self. Will put on a bright orange tie on the ride over to the party. The best thing about these two (aside from their stunning good looks) is the way they just crack each other up. Congrats you two! Also want to give a shout-out to my buddies Amy and Colin who were also at the wedding. They were one of my first real weddings that I shot and I love them. They now have two children that I need to meet.

November 14, 2008

Lindsay and Jim

Lindsay and Jim did an engagement session around the Art Museum area and I swear if I were Lindsay I would have killed me. There is a bunch of construction going on over there and I had her walking through some difficult terrain in heels. She was a trooper though and we got some sweet photos. They gave me a lot of life advise and we talked about everything from Dubi to jogging. I am happy to be shooting their wedding next year. Yeay!

November 13, 2008

Real Estate Queens

Meet Jeanne Whipple and Dawn White. We shot these a while ago but I decided to post them since we just had movie-night together at Jeanne's place. The wine was flowing and the popcorn came in many flavors! If you ever need a realator you should try them. Fun and Top-of-the-line.

November 6, 2008

Carey and Bobby

Carey and Bobby had a traditional Greek Orthodox Ceremony at St. George's in Philadelphia. I loved being surrounded by all of the excitement, mostly being spoken in Greek by Bobby's Family. It was great because Carey and Bobby are are a cool, modern couple now with this anchor of tradition set in the Orthodox church. Speaking of anchors, they had there reception on the Moshulu parked in the Delaware river. Fun! Dollars were thrown, feet were stomped and hands were clapped.

October 29, 2008

Whaaa Happened?

What happened to my words? Kate and Terry's wedding description dissapeared. I am not suprised with how crazy everything is right now. Currently all of my stuff is in boxes at the new place. I have vowed to not hit another thrift store for at least six months. I have a real problem. It's a sin how much stuff I had to get rid of! I was nostalgic and cried a little bit during the packing/destruction of my first home in Philly. It's rented to some nice young designer lads, so lets hope that goes well. Sooo back to Kate and Terry who had an awesome wedding even though it POURED rain. That is going to be one lucky marrage! They had a huge wedding party and I was freaking out about where we could possible shoot everyone with no light and tons of moisture when Kate's Dad assured me he had a very cool place lined up, a very cool stone mill. Dads always come through don't they. It all worked out! Check out Kate's dress....Sooo pretty, it reminded me of a exotic sea creature. Lovely.

Nadda and John

Nadda and John Had a beautiful wedding with lots of color. It almost seemed like three acts of a play, the traditional ceremonies at the family's houses, the white dress on the golf course - bridal mag style and then the reception! She did wear three diffrent dresses. The reception was so much fun with tons of food and the amazing dance that they had coreografed together to a music mix of "I had the time of my life" and "Baby got back"!!!! I have never seen anything like it, pure awesomey awesomness.

September 24, 2008

Jennifer and Tim

Jennifer and Tim are so adorable together. The expressions on their faces the entire day was one of complete joy. Seriously, every photo they are laughing and just so freakin happy. We hit all the major spots and the reception was at the Warwick and looked beautiful. Tim got on the drums with the band and Jen was assisting on a mean tambourine. Partying ensued. Anytime you want to wake board in the DE call me up!

September 20, 2008

Samantha and Billy

I met Samantha and her daughter Jenna and immediately clicked with them. They are loads of fun to hang with. Even Samantha's Mother is a complete doll. The wedding started to teeter due to the Rabbi being late but it came together beautifully thanks to Jenna's planning. Billy was reluctant to have his photo taken but we managed to get him outside and we had a great time on Broad St. I love his face on the last photo!

September 14, 2008

Danielle & Michael

Danielle and Michael got married on Michael's Birthday in Wilmington. I know I've said it before but the love just hums between these two. Lucy, unfortunatly was not in attendance. Danielle gets super bonus points for reading the book my mother wrote, Teaching The Trees: Lessons From The Forest

September 12, 2008

I bought a new house!

What was I thinking when I decided to buy a house during busy season? If I've been telling you about it now you can see it. www.alyssamaloof.com/images/house It's kind of a big monster. It needs a lot of work so send any good contractors my way! The house is a du-plex thus the two kitchens. Ahhhhh West Philly.

September 10, 2008

Katie and Steven

I LOVE the Holly Hedge Estate! It's so cute and everyone there is so nice. Katie and Steven got married there and it was beautiful. Deer, little mini frogs and flowers were everywhere. It really set the stage for what is clearly going to be a long life of marital bliss for theses two. Along with marital bliss there was also some really great dancing!

Diana and Sean Tied the Knot

Diana and Sean had a lovely service at the Trinity Center for Urban Life. I really liked the man who did the service but I have forgotten his name. Diana you should send that over. They followed the service up with a very classy reception at the Downtown Club. Diana changed her dress from white to a red number and Sean couldn't keep his hands off of her. There is photographic evidence that I will not post here!

August 20, 2008

Tristanne and Kosal

What a beautiful day this was. Both Tristanne and Kosal looked amazing. Everyone was in high spirits and had a great time. Tristanne's Dad is actually a wedding videographer so it was a big day for him, seeing his daughter in white this time. There are so many great photos of these two it is going to be hard to do an album. They both very creative and amazingly photogenic!

August 8, 2008

Cassie and Brent

Obviously in love, Cassie and Brent decided it would be a good idea to get married. I think anyone around them would agree that this was a good idea. The church was this amazing gem of a place in The Navy Shipyard here in South Philly. Cassie or Brent I can't seem to find the link online. Let me know. We then took The Liberty Bell for a cruise on the water and some partying. It was a cool ship and a lot of fun until the AC compressor decided to call it quits. It was another one of those 99 degree days. Ick. We had fun anyway and now Cassie and Brent can call each other Husband and Wife, or just stick to baby. Oh, the boy scouts were just a random an added bonus. They probably have no idea they are online. I hope that's legal.

Cynidi & John

Believe it or not, I had a great time at Cyndi and John's wedding. It was about 100 degrees, it started at 8:30 in the morning and I can honestly say that I enjoyed myself. All of their family and friends are so sweet and funny. There were two tea ceremonies and two dress changes (80% of my brides have more then one dress!!! I love it!). By midday we were hot and needed a dip in the fountain. I had to call it quits after 13 hours, but I still love them.

July 23, 2008

Brie and Shelley

I met Shelley and Brie through a few different connections in MD and a PAFA connection. Shelley got her Masters there! They had a beautiful outdoor (emotional) Quaker Ceremony. Everything took place at the John J. Audubon Center which was a BEAUTIFUL place to celebrate love.

July 17, 2008

Kelly and John

Somehow I forgot to post these and as I was looking back through the photos I was smiling hard. So much damn love. There were a lot of people there but you could tell that Kelly was John's favorite person and that John was Kelly's. I guess that's kind of the point of getting married. That you are each other's favorite.

I'm sure they are missed, having moved to Portland, but I bet they will be happy there or anywhere else they decide to go together.

July 13, 2008

Oh and I met Lucy, their dog!

Danielle & Michael

Danielle and Michael are getting married in August so we did an E-session at Ashland Nature Center in DE. We sweat a lot but the photos were worth it. Aren't they some lookers!

July 8, 2008

Swathi & Michael !!!!

Swathi and Michael are going to kill me because this was such a late posting. I switched computers and things got a bit out-of-control over here. Can I first tell you how much I love these two- A ton. They are sooo sweet and lovely to be around. Love is seriously radiating from them. Their wedding was too cool with, I believe, four outfit changes. It's a girls dream come true. Rain happened but it was still beautiful and we headed into the woods at Winterthur.I really had a spectacular time. The hardest part is trying to figure out which photos not to put on the blog. PS. Michael and Brian of the newly formed Aimee and Brian (see below) are actually starting a residency together and just happened to see each other on my site. Crazy!

July 1, 2008

Aimee & Brian

This was a truly beautiful event. These two are blessed in many ways - Good Looks, Good taste, Amazing families, Kind souls....Love. The list goes on.

June 24, 2008

a few more

Liz & Randy

I was so excited to shoot this wedding since it was to take place on the very grounds that my parents were married on! Might I note that they are still happily married to this day. So, you too, might want to exchange vows at Rockwood Park. It was a beautiful day.

June 19, 2008

Mary & Andrew

Mary & Andrew's wedding was such a great time. They had it at the Independence Visitor Center and had many Philadelphia details, including Tastycakes and Soft Pretzels to take home! The ceremony was very moving and personal done in the Quaker tradition, EVERYONE was crying. Good tears. And check this out Andrew's parents met in Gummere Hall at Haverford which is exactly the same place Andrew met Mary!!!!I also had a lot of fun with their friends/bridal party who invited me out to drinks afterwards. Seriously I would have loved to but a wedding will seriously wipe you out. I always go directly home and massage my feet for about an hour. Is that TMI?

June 10, 2008

Kim and Shaun

Anywhere there are large blocks of yummy cheese you can pretty much count on me being happy. This event was no exception. Kim and Shaun are two very cool peeps and it was clear that everyone at their affair had a good time. There were some tears shed, there was lots of food grazing and eventually the cops were called because too much fun was being had. Good times.

Jessica and Chad

Sorry I am so behind on my blog posts! Jessica and Chad lucked out with some beautiful weather on their big day. They are cute as cup cakes (which they had many of) especially due to the fact that Chad is a good foot or two taller then his lovely bride. He also sung a beautiful song for Jessica during the reception. Sweet.

May 29, 2008

Swathi & Michael -Engagements!

So, Swathi and Michael came by the Gallery to shoot some engagement photos before their big day, and trust me when I say big day. Their ceremony started at 7:30am and involved over 3 outfit changes! You will see more from that day later. Anyway let me tell you, Sweet little Swathi blew me away with her modeling skills. She is a freakin NATURAL! She can throw looks, that as a photographer, you are looking to catch. Swathi, if you are listening I think you should drop the whole Medical career thing and go in to modeling. The photos turned out beautifully and had a great range from fun, to serious, romantic and mystical.

CC and David

What a beautiful event CC and David had at Cairnwood in Bryn Athyn. It was a very classy event and everyone had a great time. You can tell David and CC are the best of friends. They have done some seriously extensive traveling together and when I asked them where they were going on their honeymoon they simultaneously replied Rwanda! That is the first and probably last time I will ever here that response. I wish they would take me with them everywhere to document their lives...It gives new meaning to the term "lifestyle" photographer.

May 24, 2008

The lovely ladies Jen Golden and Sarah Gamble

These were taken this winter during a trip to Atlantic City with my Holga and I've just now gotten around to picking them up from the lab. Sarah Gamble has a show up now at Little Berlin Gallery. You should check it out. I love the sparkles that were a complete accident.

May 18, 2008

PS. The last one kills me because it looks like they are in some crazy fantasy world where he is pulling her out of a hole in the ground.

Jennifer and David pt.II

Jennifer and David tied the knot at Lighthouse Sound in MD. It is one of my favorite places to shoot and these two were a lot of fun! When Jennifer was cleaning Davids teeth with a toothpick for pictures- I knew that they would be together forever. This was also the first time I have seen the Soulja Boy preformed on the marital dance floor! Awesome.

May 9, 2008

MEXICO!

Ali and Brian got married on Isla Mujeres in Mexico. The island is only anout 5 miles long and one wide. It was the perfect place to gater all of your friends and family on one beautiful spot. I had the best fish taco of my life, it burned my mouth for a good two hours, cervesa helped. Ali had one of the most stunning faces I have ever seen. I kept thinking Italian opera singer. See for yourself...

April 26, 2008

Christine and Daniel had a beautiful wedding that took place at St.Augustine Church and The Downtown Club in Philadelphia. I met them through Courtney and Johnny two of my fav people who I need to hang out with soon so I can see their puppy before it's fully grown. We stopped off in front of the Old Stock Exchange building to shoot some fun pics.

April 13, 2008

Cherry Blossom Festival

It was a beautiful day to drum/sing/dance spring in today. We had a picnic at the festival for a friend Brendon's birthday. The performances were amazing and there were tons of cute kids there having a blast. Here are some pics!

April 8, 2008

Belly Photos!

Meghan was one of my beautiful brides so of course I was dying to shoot her when she told me she was pregnant! We shot these at the gallery and got a bunch of different looks. She is so lucky, she's one of those women who only get the belly. She told me they want five kids, so you may be seeing more of these!

The Bridals

Here they are....

February 5, 2008

Ok, so I want to start shooting more "boudoir"photography in Philadelphia

I just got back from a photo workshop in KY with some of my favorite wedding photographers on earth. They are all super cool ladies with a perfect mix of fabulous style, humor and professionalism. We had a "lights out" session which is the new term for boudoir photography that Angela Anderson coined. I would love to be shooting more of these so contact me about setting up a shoot. It's an awesome gift idea as well as super fun, dress up girly time! I thought it would be fun to get a couple friends together some great outfits and a bottle of bubbly....and of course a fabulous photographer who will bring out your gorgeousness!

January 7, 2008

Lindsay and Robert

Lindsay and Robert were married at The Dupont Country Club. They love each other so much they decided to tie the knot twice! It was a beautiful winter wedding and everything went without a hitch. Leave it to Lindsay's mom Linda, she's a pro at this by now!

December 8, 2007

Erin and John

This is one good looking couple. They actually caused a collision involving a city bus! Possibly. Anyway we had a good time trotting around Philadelphia. They have a very tight group of friends and I can see why. They are a lot of fun to be around and are really sweet people. Their sweetness was reflected in the spread of desserts that came out later that evening. I swear to you I have never seen so many different options in one place. It was huge! Anyway, I know some of the ladies are anxious to see some of these on the blog so, here you go.

December 3, 2007

day two

and this was Saturday.

The party doesn't stop for Melissa and Raj!

These two know how to throw a wedding! TWO weddings in two days. Then another 1/2 wedding a week later. I bet they still haven't recovered from all of that splendor. Oh and, this was a first for me, Raj's brother announced during the reception that the had booked them a charter flight to NYC to say at the Waldorf Astoria for that night. They had a wedding planner with two assistants, 2 videographers, a photographer from the inquirer who was covering their story and me. Did I mention the food?! Yums. With all of the festivities and craziness they are still one of my favorite couples of all time and I would do it all over again with them.
